When Arthur Jones suffered a high ankle sprain in last night’s game, most Colts’ fans feared the worst. He couldn’t leave the field under his own power and had to be carted off. Jones suffered the injury in the second quarter after a teammate landed awkwardly on his right leg, and it remained stuck in the turf upon impact.
While no injury is ever good news, fortunately for Jones, it shouldn’t be a season-ending injury. What the timetable for his return is, remains unclear in what’s been called “week-to-week”.
However, it’s likely now that it will at least be for a few weeks, as DT Kelcy Quarles was signed to the Colts’ active roster from the Patriots’ practice squad today. The Colts likely don’t make that move if Jones is going to play against Jacksonville this weekend. If anything else, it means that Jones’s injury is fairly significant and may keep him out a few weeks.
