The Colts worked out LB Trevardo Williams today. Williams, a 2013 4th round pick of the Texans, was cut before ever playing a regular season snap in the NFL. He was cut by the Texans on August 1st, and was then both signed and cut by the Arizona Cardinals within the next week.
Williams does have an interesting story. He was born in Jamaica, but moved to the United States when he was 9 years old. He played his college ball at the University of Connecticut, where he was a standout and 1st-Team All-Big East.
Yet, it’s rare to see a team give up on a player this early in their career, especially one that was a fairly high draft pick all things considered. Williams must’ve really not impressed the Texans’ coaching staff, but like we’ve seen time and time again, some players can make the most with a second chance.
With Williams leaving without an agreement, it appears that the Colts were likely just kicking the tires and seeing what he has to offer.
