In a “feel good” campaign that is trending the nation everywhere, Colts’ GM Ryan Grigson accepted Houston Texans’ GM, Rick Smith and his Ice Bucket Challenge today. He was then doused with near arctic waters day from two gatorade coolers held by coaches. It was a nice gesture by Grigson, who dedicated the shower to Natalie Swift, a friend who is battling ALS.
While shivering from the aftermath, Grigson challenged Eagles’ and Vikings’ GM’s Howie Roseman and Rick Spielman respectively (Saying, “Thanks for cutting me 10-20 years ago or whatever it was,” to Spielman in jest). He also challenged Purdue University’s Head Football Coach Darrell Hazell and closed, “Let’s beat this, guys.”
While covering the Colts is cool, it’s stories like this that are often “cooler”. We’ll see if the challengers accept Grigson’s open ice bath invitation. Stay tuned Colts’ fans. It’s a good cause that was supported by a genuinely “good guy” as Colts’ GM.
