In a game that saw T.Y. Hilton accumulate 223 receiving yards on 9 receptions and 1 TD and the Colts’ take a 24-0 lead in the first quarter, the team narrowly escaped the clutches of defeat in Houston. It started with the Colts’ first drive that led to a 27-yard field goal by Adam Vinatieri, 3-0 Colts. With both starting guards, Jack Mewhort (ankle) and Hugh Thornton (back), declared out for Thurday night’s game against the Houston Texans, the Indianapolis Colts may turn to 4th-year veteran OL, Joe Reitz. Reitz, an Indianapolis and Hamilton Southeastern High School product, has started in 20 career games, all along the offensive line. On the Colts’ official depth chart, he’s listed as Anthony Castonzo‘s primary back-up at left tackle, but he’s also played a lot of offensive guard throughout his entire career. The Colts’ Wednesday Injury Report announced that the team will be without 4 key players: LG Jack Mewhort, RG Hugh Thornton, CB Darius Butler, and DE Arthur Jones, all listed out. While Jones was expected, the remaining 3 were at least thought to have a realistic chance of playing in Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans. The biggest blow has obviously been suffered on the offensive line, where the Colts will be without both of their starting guards.
