He may be 35 years old, yet he continues to be an ageless wonder. Colts’ All-Pro Reggie Wayne has looked incredibly sharp in training camp so far, to the point where you don’t really notice he’d been seriously injured at all. He’s been flashing his agility and looks like the same old Reggie that Colts’ fans have become accustomed to through the years.
It’s a promising development for the team, as it takes much of the pressure off T.Y. Hilton and Hakeem Nicks to have Wayne back as the bonafide #1 wideout. There’s no one that is more dependable as far as making the big catch, but it’s Wayne’s longevity that is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the game:
“That’s the way it looked to me. When you go back, you watch it live and then you go back and watch it on film. It’s really incredible. But again, it probably doesn’t shock anybody here. It certainly doesn’t shock me. We all know his mindset, his work ethic and his determination, and how bad he wanted to get back.”-Chuck Pagano, Indianapolis Colts Head Coach
This is a storyline that is well-worth monitoring as training camp progresses, because Wayne’s health will be a key component in the Colts becoming Super Bowl contenders this upcoming season.
