Colts’ 3rd-year running back, Vick Ballard, tore his left achilles tendon and will be out for the 2014 season. After going down with the injury in Friday’s practice, Ballard was helped off the field by trainers and promptly carted off. It’s a devastating blow for Ballard, who missed the majority of last season after suffering an ACL tear in a Week 2 practice.
While never an overwelming athlete, Ballard was rock solid for the Colts as a rookie, where he rushed for 814 yards and 2 TD’s on 211 carries. A 5th round pick from Mississippi State in 2012, Ballard had been a pleasant draft find for GM Ryan Grigson and his staff. Here’s hoping for a full recovery, Vick!
