In what was anticipated all week, the Tennessee Titans will start QB Charlie Whitehurst in today’s divisional match-up with the Indianapolis Colts. Their incumbent starter, Jake Locker, has been battling a sore wrist all week and apparently, it hasn’t healed enough in time to give it a go.
Whitehurt, 32, is a 9-year NFL veteran, who has also played with the San Diego Chargers and Seattle Seahawks organizations. He has appeared in 13 career NFL games, throwing for 3 TD’s and 4 INT’s, and has a lifetime QBR of 64.6.
He’s widely known as a checkdown artist, so expect Tight End Delanie Walker and Running Back Shonn Greene to be fairly involved in the Titans’ passing attack, as well as a heavy dosage of the aforementioned Greene in the running game.
